CEPP and Centaure Production

CEPP

Is a voluntary Association (created under the French law of 1901). CEPP or “Compétitions Equestres PAU–PYRENNES” was founded on June 14th 1990 by an impassioned group.

We have two main goals which have always guided our actions. Firstly the promotion of equestrian sports and secondly to export the images of the town of PAU, the department of the Pyrenees-Atlantiques, the region of Aquitaine and of France throughout the world,
We use our passion to bring the festive and popular side of the competitions that we organize to our fellow-citizens, while taking an active part in the local economy. These two aspects of our actions, social and economic, make the volunteer force of our Association an essential value!
To be a volunteer, it is to voluntarily give ones time, competence and energy. It is to be able to find pleasure in the regard of others and to have satisfaction in the work carried out! To date, about thirty volunteers work all year round to create this event. At the beginning of November, during the competition week, we are joined by 400 to 500 volunteers who help supervise the 200 horses, 150 riders and their teams, 50 exhibitors, the press and restaurant facilities and the 45,000 visitors of all nationalities.

CENTAURE PRODUCTION

Pascal Sayous, Director of Centaure Production, has been personally involved with the equestrian demonstration since its first edition. In 1999, he created the corporation Centaure Production which became the logistic and event-driven service for the association CEPP. Close cooperation with CEPP, hard work and persistence, contributed to the success and the rise of this prestigious event, taking it to the highest level.

The Centaure Production’s role: Sourcing finance (sponsors, exhibitors and public funds), the press relations and advertising, the event logistic installation, general management, the TV production and Web-TV.
In 2009, Centaure Production became Co-producer with the association CEPP of Stars of Pau.

La News des Etoiles de Pau N°2: To the British’conquest!

Monday 16 August

For the second year running, “Les Etoiles de Pau” CCI**** Horse Trials, will be seducing our English neigbours at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials CCI**** – (A stage of the HSBC FEI Classics Series). In addition the Pau office of Tourism and the Pau Béarn Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be there to give information on “Pau Pyrénées” as a tourist destination. Rendez-vous on stand D4, in Great Britain, from the 2nd to the 5th of September.

The stars of Pau at Equestria

As EQUESTRIA partner, “THE STARS OF PAU“ Organizing committee is present from 27th of July to 1st of August at Tarbes for this exceptional festival of equestrian shows.
Come and visit us at our trade stand in order to discover the scheduling of The stars of Pau 2010 before all others.

Take advantage of our presence to buy your ticket, with price cut, for the November session which will permit you to assist to the only one CCI**** in France (-10% on the ticket booth if you buy before August 31, 2010).
Find us on the right aisle of the EQUESTRIA exhibitors’ village, between the ice cream maker and the mobile boxes.

To celebrate the 20^th anniversary of the International Pau Horse Trials, we are looking back to the original team of the competition, the officials of the Pau town council who have supported us from the beginning of this adventure, the winner of the first “Concours Complet d’Amitié de Pau” in 1990 and more…

In 1990, James Chambaud created the “Compétitions Equestres Pau Pyrenees” (CEPP) committee to organize the International Horse Trials. In 2010, 20 years later, his son Thierry Chambaud has been elected as the Vice-President of CEPP. We interviewed both of them separately.

Our English counterpart, the Land Rover Burghley Four Star Horse Trials, opens its ticketing and you can win free tickets!

You only have to send your email address before June 30th 2010 and you may be picked out of a draw and win tickets for the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials.

We intend to have a closer co-operation with this event which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2011; we are already doing promotional campaigns together.

We hope you will be able to participate in this beautiful HSBC FEI CLASSIC series from 2nd to 5th September and meet the organizers of the “The Stars of Pau” on their trade stand in the exhibitor village. There will be more details on this promotional operation in our August newsletter.
